MA Fashion shoot.

This MA was a whirlwind. Working full-time alongside it left me in a hazy daze. And so I left trails of myself behind, but didn’t pick up the pieces. Slowly there is a regaining of that part - of myself, of the work, of the concepts.

The video shown here was captured during a photo shoot with myself and three other students’ work. Interestingly we had a similar approach to raw construction methods, so along with the contrast of felted wools and tech fabrics, this shoot felt abstracted and raw.

I am working on obtaining the physical still images of the shoot, captured by Agnes Lloyd-Platt, lost within a furore of complaining about the course leader, continuing with full-time work, and attempting to figure out what was next. We had exhibited at the Garden Museum, another moment where I am uncertain I really appreciated the scale of things. My work was up there on the wall, huge for all to see. The ceiling was draped in what I remember as wisteria-like. The brick façade of the church setting allowing the colours in our pieces to pop, and the dried flowers in my work to blend in. Those large-scale images weren’t recovered; there are moments where I am utterly frustrated at the confidence-lacking 25 year old that did not push to hold on to what was their’s.

The garments are still with me. A reminder of what I once did, and perhaps could pick up again.
