Story of the tents.
purpose.
Frustrated by the amount of valuable material left over after festivals, I decided to salvage some of the abandoned broken tents and utilise them as they are: no additional components other than the polyester sewing thread. They were designed to be as close to monomaterial as possible, using zero waste pattern cutting techniques to utilise most of the material, and configured around details such as guide loops. They were expected to fit any body type or ability throughout a lifetime, and serve as an apocalyptic garment - being waterproof, windproof and a physical shelter if necessary, while operating as clothing in its main life.
details.
Some garments were created in the traditional sense through pattern cutting around fun details as mentioned, like existing loops. Others gained some structure through the moving of ropes in order to create drawstrings. And others were simply draped on the stand.
